Housing in Bat Galim
Recently, we have again begun building a collaborative database in which students and other residents of the neighborhood can share details about the apartments they rent: price, location, size, furniture and other parameters. This is the first step in the contest for fair rental prices in Bat Galim neighborhood. How does it work? The increase in apartment prices is caused in some cases by the tenants' lack of familiarity with the reasonable market prices, and also by accepting unreasonable prices offered in cases of lack of choice. To deal with the problem, we want to reflect and present the value should be expected in relation to the cost of the rented apartment. You are also invited to participate in this initiative and fill out your rental details (in the neighborhood).

At the same time, a influx of responses from the Bat Galim Facebook group began on apartment advertisements, which are criticizing unreasonable prices. It should be noted that while our ability to influence the housing market is limited, it is clear that these two steps did have an effect - some apartments were republished at lower prices, and some interests parties have even sabotaged the cooperative document because they did not want other students to know there is a market of apartments at low prices (do not worry though, the document was restored). We encourage you to be active in the social networks and in negotiating with the apartment owners!
"Kan Garim" Project
In this project, senior citizens offer students to live with them (at least 3 nights a week) for a nominal fee, and the students spend a number of hours a week with the adults in return, and also receive a scholarship of NIS 8000 a year. In cooperation with the welfare representatives in the neighborhood, activities were carried out to bring senior residents of the neighborhood to the project, as well as to enroll students from the faculty. An affordable housing solution and above all a blessed social act!
