Disciplinary law

The Technion operates a disciplinary court that is responsible for maintaining academic integrity.

The system deals with cases related to cheating in examinations and in assignments, forgery of documents and even inappropriate behavior on campus.

The disciplinary system operates according to the regulations approved with the Student Association, which can be found here.

Accompanying in disciplinary hearings - we are here for you

The Student Association, with the Academic Committee, operates a free advice service for TSA members who are accused of any violation.

The main purpose of the advisers is to operate in the student's interest and protect their rights during the disciplinary process.

As a rule, their goal is to seek an acquittal for the innocent students and to achieve a balanced sentence that upholds basic justice, taking into account the gravity of the offense and its circumstances.

All calls are confidential and their contents including names involved will not be disclosed to any other party.

The process in a nutshell

Most cases are closed in one of two ways:

First - acquittal:

A student who has been charged but has not committed any offense (and acknowledged by the Technion), will be acquitted, the complaint against them will be canceled, and they will be able to continue their studies without interruption.

Second - plea bargain:

A student who was found guilty will receive a plea bargain proposal from the prosecutor, according to the severity of the offense, which the student will be required to sign. That will end the process, and the student's studies will continue according to the determined arrangement.
