When is it Recommended to Start Writing the Thesis?
It is recommended to start writing the final thesis in the fourth year (and not after!). The average period between the date of submitting a proposal to a thesis and the date of receipt of a permission is approximately 3 months. The internship can be started only after submitting a final thesis approved by the supervisor (not a draft) to the committee for the purpose of receiving a grade by the evaluators
Find a Moderator
You can ask Galit Cohen to help you find an advisor. It is advisable to contact a physician who has previously directed a final thesis and is willing to take an active part in its guidance.
Emphasis on Writing a Paper
(1) Suggestions for new topics are published from time to time via email and on the faculty website.
(2) Research should be based on a population of at least 40 patients.
(3) You are allowed to cooperate with other faculty of the Technion (all terms are mentions in the link above).
(4) The steps of the thesis submission process (submission of the research proposal and submission of the thesis itself) are detailed in the terms above.
(5) Factors that affect the final grade of the thesis is detailed in the terms above.
Statistical Assistance

The Faculty of Medicine allows every medical student to receive up to 4 hours of statistical assistance in their final thesis free of charge, and the statistical consultation is intended mainly to assist in the planning and submission of the research proposal. For assistance please fill in the application form for statistical assistance (see page 7 in the terms) and send it to borisft@tx.technion.ac.il attached with a research proposal and sample data in Excel.

Exemption From Submitting a Thesis
You can get exemption from writing a thesis in a number of cases, all the details can be found in the terms above.
